In the meantime, the next reunion meeting is coming on Sunday August 11th in Lindsay. If you can attend in person – GREAT! If not, the committee is working on getting some method of going digital for those that still want to participate but cannot make the trip.

Just let Cyndi know  – looking for more volunteers always!

Location Survey is here!

Hello Family!

Its time! We need to book a location ASAP because spaces are limited and renting out quickly.

Please vote on your choice of location via the online survey by 2/3/19. Open to all the first cousins and original brother and sisters, along with their spouses. Voting will be
closed on 2/3/19 and will not be extended.

Sorry, the survey has ended – results will be shared soon.

50th Reunion Update – Watch for survey coming soon!

Hello Family!

Happy New Year! Here is the latest update on the 2020 50th Reunion.

We need to book a location ASAP because spaces are limited and renting out quickly. At the first meeting we had said were would be voting for next location Oct 31st. That deadline was extended so the people who volunteered to find locations had a little bit more time. The volunteers have found it difficult to find a cost effective places that could meet our needs and time frame.

We will be sending out an online survey to vote on location by 1/27/19 to all the first cousins and original brother and sisters, along with their spouses. Each first cousin gets one vote. Voting will be closed on 2/3/19 and will not be extended.

Here is the information we have received on location options to review prior to the survey:

Bible Camps

Our choices are a campground/retreat center bunk housing, that does not allow alcohol on the grounds or smoking in the buildings. We have only a few weeks left to choose from if we want these locations. They can only accommodate us in early May and early August in 2020 as of this email. All of the bible camps/retreat centers were around $50/day/person for food and lodging with the cheapest lodging accommodations.

  • Lake Doniphan conference center in Excelsior Springs MO; dates available for summer of 2020 are the last 2 weeks of August, final cost is $50/night per person, sleeping arrangements are primarily bunk beds, Absolutely no alcohol or pets, smoking is allowed outside only, this means no smoking in sleeping rooms
  • Crystal Springs Bible camp in Medina ND; dates available in May and very late August of 2020, final cost about $60/night, sleeping arrangements are primarily bunk beds. Absolutely NO alcohol, tobacco of any kind, or pets
  • Lakewood Bible Camp in Devils Lake ND; same as for Crystal Springs bible camp.

Oklahoma

Homes around Lindsay can accommodate about 60 people. New Hotel rents for $148/night.  RV rental for 1 week is around $20/night. Using Lindsay Homes and RV’s, catered evening meals, and simple light lunch meals, the cost is about $30/person per night.

  • Meals: $7/person for lunch (this would be something easy like sandwiches/pizza) quick and easy. $10/person for evening meal (catered).
  • Tess came up with a fun idea!  We were talking about the “50”year theme and we thought a last night “50 year anniversary party” would be super fun.  Including a special meal that would probably cost more than $10 each. We could take family pictures and get all dressed up!  Our imaginations started going crazy with ideas!!
  • Large gathering space/game room/raffle prize room/ $300 for week
  • Total cost will increase with the use of the hotel
  • We can get the REC building June 21-27, June 28-July 4, July 5-11. Because of the heat we recommend either week in June.

North Dakota

We have not received any dollar amounts from Oaks.  Cecilia at Lamore said that there is a restaurant that caters, and a large enough building that can be used for  games. She did not have any costs except that meals would probably be $10/meal if catered.

We are not aware of any funds left from the last reunion therefore costs do not reflect the use of any current reunion funds, if available.

If anyone has any other information to be added please send it to us ASAP!!

Thank you!
